Currently sick! :( Preparing for VANCAF this weekend!

When it was nice outside, I was doing crazy laps in our pool! I went from doing 25 laps, to 40, to 50! My legs feel really nice after that! :D

Wanting to try the pushup challenge again from scratch, because I got to about 50-60 and couldn’t do any more in a row. From scratch, because I want to see if I can do normal form pushups with all the weights I’ve been lifting. Here’s hoping I can at least do 5-7!

My new goal is looking even better for Japan/New Zealand, though when I go to those places, I’m pretty sure I’m going to eat the entire countries. Not even joking. XD

You know what feels awesome? Going on the elliptical for 70 minutes and burning 775 calories.

Seriously, my ass is like THANK YOU FOR THAT WORKOUT I HATE YOU RIGHT NOW BUT HOLY SHIT I WILL MAKE SURE I MOLD MYSELF INTO THE MOST FABULOUS ROCK HARD SET OF GLUTES YOU’VE EVER SEEN.

True story.

Did a 40 minute jog/walk today!
Then 3 sets of 10 reps bicep curls (15 pounds each side)
3 sets of 10  reverse tricep dip (15 lbs)
3 sets of 10 bent over dumbbell row (15 pounds each side)
3 sets of 10 squats (with 15 lbs in each hand)
I&#8217;m feeling really bloated and terrible today after my dad&#8217;s birthday dinner yesterday (it was all finger foods and coconut cream pie&#8230; I&#8217;m HORRIBLE with dairy) I need to get more mint/licorice tea to get this crap out!

L2G Update!

Hello followers of Loose to Groose!

I’m sorry for abandoning the blog for those few weeks. After Emerald City ComicCon, I had 2 cons to prepare for where I was selling stuff so my working out slowed to almost nothing during the last 3-4 weeks. Since then I’ve gained a bit of the weight back (not much, only about 3 or so pounds) and my muscles softened only slightly.

I felt really awesome in my Groose costume, though, which was my main goal of starting this blog.

I felt strong, happy and fun. I had a lot of fun at the Zelda photoshoot at Sakuracon 2012 with all the lovely other cosplayers. There has been the odd photo that pops up of me in my costume where I look less than awesome (there’s the odd double chin photo that pops up, haha!) but I think that’s inevitable with candid photos, so I’ve learned to accept those. It also encourages me to keep eating super healthy, which I’ve been dipping up and down since Spring con season.

I just started running outside again yesterday, and today my legs are burning. Today I did a dumbbell workout my fitness friend Johnny helped me with. I upped the dumbbell to 15 pounds each hand but this time I alternate to focus on one arm at a time.

For a dumbbell bicep curl I do 8 each arm in a set (15 lbs) and do 3 times each arm.

Then I do 12 reverse tricep dips with both hands holding the 15 pound weight. It’s easy at first, but you tire out by the 2nd set. I do 3 sets of those.

Then I did a bent over dumbbell row, 12 on each side, 3 times each side.

I’ll start up progress photos again soon.  My goal is to keep building lean muscle and to keep working on my love handles. :) Keep sending me messages of your own trials and goals and recipes, I love getting it all!

I live!

I promise I am still around!

ECCC was crazy. I hardly ate anything healthy all weekend, unfortunately. :| Not having a kitchen/fridge accessible and not having many healthy eating alternatives in the area of downtown Seattle is a bit of a downer. We did have some AMAZING thai food on Thursday night. I had Tom Yum soup (a clear, sweet and sour broth with mushrooms and shrimp) and we even worked out in the hotel gym! WOO!

However, since I came back Sunday night, I’ve been NONSTOP working on stuff for Sakuracon, literally I get up at 8am and don’t stop working til 2am. It’s been terrible for my health and my stress levels are through the roof. I’m going to need to get right back into healthy shape and jogging, now that the cherry blossoms are out and it smells awesome outside.  This weekend I’m going to try to eat healthier. Can anyone from the Seattle area recommend places downtown that are pretty healthy?

Today was outside running (Day 4/7 before ECCC, I missed yesterday because it was rainy so I’ll have to do a treadmill run on the same day as tomorrow or something) + weight circuit! Musclesdeath! I feels it! :D

I had a smoothie for breakfast. I ran out of bananas and got more yesterday when I got that roast chicken. Thank god, I missed those things. ;o;

For lunch I had a roast chicken + multigrain bread sandwich with a handful of sugar snap peas.

Drinking water like crazy. Not hungry right now, even though it’s 8:30pm. I only seem to eat twice in one day. It’s probably from sitting so much, I don’t feel hungry if I’m working and concentrating on art all the time. I wonder if this is a good thing?

Probably not. OH WELL! \o/

Dinner tonight… went out and bought a roast chicken at Safeway and ate so much of it yESSSSSsSSSssSS.

Also sugar snap peas (ran out, got some more), a few small cubes of havarti cheese, and a big glass of Green Goodness Bolthouse Farms smoothie.

FEELS SO GOODDDDDD. B)

This is awesome! I’ve upped the weights today in my regime by 2.5 pounds each hand (doesn’t seem like a lot, but trust me, it is!) and I currently feel like a burning pile of death! However, I was looking in the mirror and when the light hit at a certain angle I realized… I HAVE SICK TRICEPS! :O

The two bottom pictures are a comparison to what I looked like in 2009. So this is a pretty insane jump. :D HOORAY!
